Thanks for all the Ritzville Cutoff maps. This has always been an intriguing part of NP history, trying to understand why it never happened. Obviously it also intrigued many of the NP brass over the years as it kept coming back up as a possible improvement.
I'm still doing the Toppenish presentation, so this is part of my near down to the wire research efforts.
I think a lot of corporate studies are done in order to answer the "did you consider ..." without reflecting any actual interest in seriously considering the alternatives.
I suspect you're right. Perhaps it was dusted off to make sure it still was not a viable option.
