Fred Brown has graciously provided photos taken by his father of the locomotives involved in this wreck after they were hauled back to Spokane for scrapping. The initial wreck report can be found here.
This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. You mentioned that Fred Brown's father had given him these pictures. Do you know if his dad was Clayton Brown of Spokane? I believe he worked for the GN.
