This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by! --Dan Bolyard

Ephrata depot view.
From around 1959.
View of the depot from a postcard I just got. The mainline is now welded rail, the siding is stub-ended before the crossing, and all the industries the boxcars are spotted next to on the right are all gone.

Waterville Railway Depot
No date, but likely 1959 or 1960. The shed that dominates the view on the right is sitting in what is Rainier Street and is long gone.

BN 8028 At Rock Island

Brian says:
"On an overcast day BN's SPD heads east into Rock Island, WA 10-9-82 with
SD40-2's 8028/8066/8016/6363. At the time these 8000's series SD40-2
were everywhere. They must have been assigned to Interbay. Though I
was probably not happy it was overcast, no doubt it would have been very
backlit if the sun had been out. Can't recall the symbol SPD, probably
something like Seattle/Portland to Denver."
