This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by! --Dan Bolyard

1948 East Low Canal Crab Creek Siphon
Another example of poorly labelled photos in the collection of the institution listed in the watermark. They say a canal is being constructed near Soap Lake in 1948.
These show the East Low Canal being constructed just south of the bifurcation from the main canal about a mile north of this location near Adco. It shows the Crab Creek Siphon being constructed underneath the Great Northern mainline just east of Adrian. Also shown is how they diverted Crab Creek and put the siphon below the creek. This is still the case today.
