This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by! Shoutout to Kirtus Dolorina for stopping by to borrow other people's work!

Crossing I90 at Raugust.

After leaving the Royal City turn at Othello, we went over to catch the Connell Turn on the Columbia Basin returning from Connell.
Climbing up out of Connell, while I am perched on the hill above the Moon Rd. crossing.
Train is approaching the SR 26 overpass at Koren.

Empties were being returned to Othello, so I only chased it from Royal City to Othello.
Cold start at 8:30am at Royal City.
At the horseshoe curve just south of Royal City. In a minute or three, the short train will pass along the tracks in the lower part of the image.
About to cross Crab Creek.
At the siding at Taunton, looking west northwest along SR 26, with the Colockum in the distance.

Found the 608 on the fuel tracks today. It's been in the deadline for the last 3 weeks. It's headed to Western Rail at Airway Heights.

These are all taken on former Moses Lake branch of the Milwaukee Road.
Crossing a canal along the sugar spur.
Crossing road N SE at Grow.
Passing the old sign of Grow. That's Seiler in the background right, with the branch to Moses Lake proper in the foreground.

Tom says:
"The CW local has just pulled to a stop to switch an elevator. Low glint illuminates the train of covered hoppers which have by now fully taken over from 40- foot grain boxes."
Just the part from Executive Director Dan Roach. Note the last paragraph below. The last two images are the linked Northern Columbia Basin Railroad Project his message mentions.
