This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for posting a fascinating series of maps. I enjoy studying them. Commonality; numbered streets (real original 1st, 2nd and so on) but the interesting part is the "named streets" like on this map. Obviously named after minerals. Interesting! Other maps, make you wonder who the folks were. Other item of interest - Milwaukee Road still referred to with "Puget Sound" in the name.

Yes, the Chicago Milwaukee & Puget Sound. But in the interest of searching the blog, the "Milwaukee Road" tag will do.
