Douglas Creek Bridge Locations

Located just south of Columbia River and north of Vulcan, the first two photos show the abutment locations of the original wooden trestle from the original alignment of the Great Northern.


The first two miles of the branch to Mansfield are also a part of this original alignment and you can see where the branch curved away from the bridge location to the right of the upper photo just below the trees.

Across the river you can see the 1909 alignment and the current bridge over the creek. Note the line in the hillside of the old mainline/Mansfield branch.
