Big Bend Railroads Book

Just received word that my book "Big Bend Railroads" has a release date in January 2015.

You cannot believe how excited I am about this, nor believe how many hours went into putting this together. It is truly a labor of love.

I also had plenty of help in reviewing captions to make sure my facts were correct and that I did not say something stupid. Special thanks to Dave Sprau, retired train dispatcher and historian, reviewed caption material and made important observations, as did Allen Miller, retired railroader and Milwaukee Road history expert, who also provided photos. Bob Kelly, Collection Manager, Skykomish Historical Society and the Great Northern Railway Historical Society gave important suggestions and helped track down photos. Sean Hess, Pacific Northwest Regional Archaeologist, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, looked over the Grand Coulee section. I’m also indebted to Darrin Nelson, a fan and blogger of the Great Northern Mansfield branch for his help in tracking down photos. Charles Mutschler, Archivist, Eastern Washington University helped with many photos.

At this point, Amazon does not have the cover image, but I sure do.

I included the source photo, so you can see the beauty of this shot in Dry Coulee in the late 1960s near the old siding of Bacon. Image is courtesy of John Neff.

Pre-order the book at Amazon here.
