This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. Hi Steve!
From the Coulee City "Dispatch."
August 19, 1937
That was a great story about a line that I wish I could have ridden on before it was removed. Walking it now just isn't the same. I was wondering if there is any information on what kind of power the NP was using during this time. Two locomotives for 42 cars seems like it was probably something lighter than a 2-8-2 Mikado. Maybe a 2-6-2?
That is information I wish I could find. I hope something turns up as the NPRHA continues to scan their records.Dan
