1976 BN At Trinidad View

Burlington Northern (former Colorado & Southern) 900 leads BN train No. 88, climbing the 20-mile, 1% grade from the Columbia River basin just east of Trinidad, Washington.

Great shot. I've hiked down the old grade above the existing very near where this was taken. The extended view time of a train makes it one of my favorite spots.

Great capture from an excellent photographer!

BN's finest power at the time, SD's and GE's, and all from pre-merger owners.
Mr. Harrop was an underrated photographer that always seemed to get the shots no else could-Milw on Pipestone, NP on Homestake, Rio Grande is rare places, even some cool stuff here in Washington!

Even since the signal got moved and the pole line yanked out, it's still good.
