Good looking locomotive! I haven't seen many photos of Milwaukee big steam. This one reminds me of the NP Z-3 and Z-4's that my grandfather ran over Stampede.
Yes for sure. Especially in his earlier days when he was in helper service on Stampede. He said it would get so hot in the cab that guys would pass out. They'd get the locomotive pushing full bore before going in the tunnel and then get a wad of waste wet and breathe thru it while laying on the floor! I can't even imagine.
