On Tuesday, May 6, 1913 an excursion
train known as the "Trade Extension" was run out of
Ellensburg at 8 a.m. to Othello where the crowd was served lunch. The
train then returned to Beverly and went down the new branch line to
Hanford, stopping at White Bluffs for the night. From Hanford, the
next day, the train returned to Ellensburg, arriving about 6 p.m. The
purpose being to induce business men to invest and buy lots in the
new towns and increase the revenue from the branch.
