This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by!

Note the Central Washington Railroad grade on the lower left.

Whoa, was the highway built on the old grade? I don't think I ever noticed it before!
No. The railway is curving away in the photo. They are very close in places.
I believe that was the route that was never finished, correct?
Correct. I do have a profile showing the grade completed 10 miles beyond Coulee City, but no rail ever laid.
