This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by!

Great pictures! Pacific 1351 was wrecked in a collision in British Columbia in 1941: From Wikipedia - July 24 – Canada – a regular Great Northern Railway passenger train–led by Great Northern H-5 class No. 1351–collided head-on with the second section of a Canadian National Railway Transcontinental train–led by Canadian National S-1-b class No. 3254–on a single-track mainline in the Brunette Valley near New Westminster, British Columbia; two people were killed, three were severely injured, and 21 passengers and crew received minor injuries.[21]

Steam!
The Vanderbilt tender on the 1351 is almost as big as the loco!
It might weigh more when it's full!
