557 in Everett

Allen says, "Thought you might enjoy this picture of Monte's engine that I found among my slides the other day. The slide says Everett, although you would think the locomotive coming down from Alaska would arrive in Seattle. Seems Red Griffin had a picture of this engine at Everett too, so maybe it came in up in Canada and the G.N. hauled it down to Everett and interchanged it to the Milw. for shipment to Moses Lake. Slide was dated July, 1965."

The story goes that the 557 was acquired from an Everett scrapyard. That caboose on the right came with it. The caboose was donated years ago to the museum in Cashmere, WA.
