More Railroad Grades In Douglas County
Found a little more evidence that the Seattle, Lake Shore, & Eastern Railway was grading in Douglas County. Here is a shot taken from the old grade of US 2, looking up at two different cuts. The lower is the SLSE, the upper is the Central Washington Railroad.
This view is looking down from the current alignment of US 2 over the cuts seen in the above photo. Note Dry Falls in the background.
