1909 timeframe.
Looking on the down grade at the Mason Barb Homestead. These tracks were located across the creek from the base of Slack Canyon in Douglas Creek. Mason was a prominent rancher in and around the Douglas Creek area. In 1909, two years after he homesteaded the area, the Great Northern built the line right through his ranch. In turn, he opened and operated the short-lived 'Hopewell' Post Office out of his house.
