This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by!

Dan - interesting article. One of the things I've noticed about the Wheat Line and its entry into Marcellus is that after coming up through the coulee (Dry Coulee?) and making it out onto the real Central WA plane it turns NE. This lines it up perfectly with the parallel NP line several miles east ... and for a quick shot into Spokane.
As I recall there were rumors from articles of the time that they were also exploring putting this line through as their own Spokane gateway too - but you may know better than I.
Thanks for all of the recent Corfu pictures too. What amazing pictures locked in time.

Leland,
I had not heard about this going all the way to Spokane. Hmm...
